Isn't it happyfying, Brother Solzhenitsyn, that you have the privilege to share such inspired expessions.
Evidently, you are a right minded one and have a good standing in the congregation.

what unique to jws phrases do you remember?
something fun for those of us taught to speak an entirely unique and pure language.
there have been posts in the past in this forum but perhaps some have new ones after having kept up with jehovah's chariot as the light gets brighter.

from the november 2019 watchtower study edition.. how many of you would like to know what the brothers and sisters would respond to this question.
also, if you went into a hall how would you like to respond to the question.. 8. how should we respond to lies?.
8 satan, βthe father of the lie,β uses those under his control to spread lies about jehovah and about our brothers and sisters.
My first question would be: If the society has misinterpreted the meaning of the locusts in Joel, how can we be confident that our current understanding of satans burning arrows in Ephesians is in any way correct?
Secondly, can we be provided with documented proof of these lies, with references to the source and be shown where it is that the apostates have lied?
And thirdly, would it not strengthen our faith if we can prove beyond doubt that the appostates distort facts and tell lies?
Surely truth will prevail, because it can be backed by evidence when scrutinized, whereas deception will fail when examined.

it's seems that even the revised edition of the book revelation: it's grand climax a hand was wrong again.. in the 2019 agm david splane "clarified our understanding of the prophecy recorded in joel 2".
clarified?
you mean he done a 180 reversal.. from revelation: it's grand climax a hand page 143, para.
Another exhibit to add to the evidence pool, proof positive that watchtower and Jehovah's witnesses are just another tax evading cult.
Also, be careful those thongs look like they have eight strains of fungus embedded within. Wouldn't want to be flip-flopping around in them!

hi all, i've not read the forums for awhile as i've been trying to move on with my life but i'm back and posting for the first time feeling like i cant get a grip.
so i'm wondering for those of you that have seen a therapist and say that it truly helps, what can be accomplished?
i'm just really skeptical, but starting to feel desperate.
Hi Thetruthhurts,
welcome to the forum.
To answer your question, think about what a physiotherapist does; they "just" tell you coping techniques, like exercises, strapping and pain management tailored to your particular injury and circumstance.
The psychiatrist likewise will tailor a program of mental health care coping techniques and trauma management to suit your particular situation.
Neither therapist can change what happened to you or your personal life circumstance, but what they can do is show you how to cope, how to avoid further trauma or injury, recommend what to change in you life to assist your recovery and prescribe medication where necessary.
It is then up to you to make the hard decision whether or not you can follow their recommendations.
And what price or value do you put on your mental health?
It's really good you have come here to talk about this with people that understand a lot of what You're going through. Thats a great start to the healing process.
Keep talking, keep asking questions and without giving away your identity can you give us more detail concerning what it is that is making you feel you can't get a grip?

so i'll be speaking on a panel as part of the "when rights and religions collide" event next saturday, october 19. if you'd like to attend you can learn more here:https://rightsandreligions.com/.
i'm also going to host a meetup on sunday if any of you are in the nyc area.
i'm still putting the finishing touches on the details but if you'd like to join in and meet myself, my wife, and a few people that listen to the shunned podcast or that are in my facebook group called by the same name shoot me a private message soon.
Hi Dubstepped,
You and your wife are doing a great job in educating the public and giving a voice to many who might otherwise have not been heard.
I absolutely enjoyed Your speech at UOL on jw's and propaganda, it was really well presented and I thank you and your wife for sharing.
Looking forward to anything you will be able to share from the upcoming speaking part and event at UOC.
We all know that high-control religions have been negatively impacting human rights and It will be good to hear this being discussed in a forum that has education at its core.

if a jw had the nerve to ask me this question, i'd say to them, "you go first.
using only scriptural proof, show me why you believe that the wtbts/ccojw is god's choice and i'll tell you if i agree with your scriptural reasoning.".
wait for the silence and the rabbit in the headlights moment.. i searched on the wt cd rom for references of "channel of communication.".
Looking at 14th August 2015 Australian royal commission into organisational responses to child sexual abuse Day155 transcript page 15937 lines 37 /38 , Geoffrey Jackson is seen to be using deception and obfuscation to give a non-answer, as is his M.O. throughout the hearing, when he uses the crafty and cunning, smooth talk and weasel words of watchtower by saying, "That I think would seem to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that God is using".
Notice his use of "I think" and "seem".... and the rest of his testimony is full of those kinds of guarded non-committal wordings, typical of watchtower that can later be weaseled out of.
Plausible deniability.
But throughout the literature of watchtower the doctrine fluctuates from ambiguity, to clearly stated and defined, and back to vague uninspired imperfect men "trying" to fulfil that role.
So a jw should never commit to anything but instead refer back to what the "current teaching" is.

its astonishing to reflectively realize the jws are supporting a group of men who teach and profess a false and tainted commercialized gospel of jesus and his the new kingdom order.
out of hundreds of christian faiths in existence only one teaches that 1914 was the year christ returned and has taken to his heavenly throne in heaven.
according to the bible this date setting is an act of disloyalty and apostasy through the very words of jesus.
Jw's don't dare to look sideways or have independent thought due to the fear of losing family and community.
Their thoughts are coerced and controlled by watchtower, one only has to read the manipulative language used throughout the literature when it comes to independent research and thought to understand why Jehovah's witnesses are blind to the corruption, lies and deception of watchtower.
As for the teaching that Jesus established government in 1914; the worth of any government can be quantified by its accomplishments during its term of governance.
So, in 105 years, what has this government achieved? Check out what the Watchtower says, and I assure you that you will be extremely underwhelmed and unimpressed and you will see that it has apparently only done some pathetic housekeeping and other self-serving manoeuvres, nothing that helps its constituents.
What the Watchtower and Jehovah's witnesses have done by their taking on a name other than the one that according to their bible, was given to them, namely Christians; they have made the name "Jehovah" toxic and if it does turn out to be Gods name they have without a doubt brought a great reproach on it.
The world and all of us are witnesses to that fact.
I , for one won't bear false witness to what I have seen and heard.
Will you?

something just struck me.. is the wts the only religion that won't kick people out for abusing children, but would kick you out for visiting a website that informs you that the wts won't kick people out for abusing children .... it really shows where their sensibilities lie.
they are more interested in acting as gatekeepers to information, especially information about them, than providing basic levels of protection to the children of their members.. maybe someone with a better turn of phrase can shorten it, it might make a good meme - something short and simple that really makes people think:.
"the wts - tougher on those who read reports of jw child abuse than on jws who conduct child abuse".
Jehovah's witnesses: Providing a refuge for child rapists. While Disfellowshiping and shunning all who learn how to protect children from rape.

it's easy to get bogged down with life and think you're not getting ahead or progressing.
but regardless of where we think things may be going, pretty much everyone who's come through this site is an achiever who's done an amazing thing in one way or another even if they may not think about it.. so think about it!.
you got past and over your programming and indoctrination.
Diogenesister,
Thanks for that tidbit, I was unaware of the connection. π
One would hope that a support group along with professional therapy could be of benefit, only the individual who is affected by such affliction could say if it provides a positive outcome.
My thoughts had been more along the line of self introspection and positive change where one can make changes.π
Regards,

Simon, this was such a beautiful topic and your words are healing for many who are in need of support.
I don't like to see long-term members on this site seemingly continue to wallow in the negative impacts of their having been JW's.
I hope they feel supported and proud of their personal achievement because this is what a recovery forum should be able to convey; a sense of self worth.
To any who are struggling to move on: keep coming back here, but also seek professional psychological help. If you still find yourself continuing on in a depressed or negative state of mind search out a second or third professional therapist until you find one who actually does work for your unique individual circumstance.....and makes you feel and know you're awsome, again.
Personally, I am very proud of my young 20 year-old self for making a very difficult decision that the 48 year old me is now reaping the benefits of, even though there were some devastating consequences and very hard times to deal with, I have made the best of a bad situation and turned it around through sheer determination, hard work and love.
I hope you all can take heart at my example; even the least intelligent and financially impeded one among you was able to make positive change to his life and now thrives.
The positives have far outweighed the negative impacts and consequences.
I refuse to dwell too long on what I cannot change, but instead try to have courage to change the things I can, and, in the word of Sinead O'Connor, the wisdom to know the difference.
Warm Regards to all,
RayoFlight2014.
